What comes to mind when you hear the word MOTIVATION?
Motivation to me is when you have a goal that you are trying to achieve and something pressures you into accomplishing that goal.
Sometimes motivation can be hard to find no matter how bad you want something in your life... its will power and training yourself to get into the right mindset in order to achieve something. I have such a hard time motivating myself but i know that it can only come from yourself because when people pressure you into doing something you tend to do the opposite (not all the time, but most of the time). Its almost like you have to force yourself to do it or else it WON'T happen.
I love that we have choices and we have to make our own decisions in life sometimes its hard to make the right one... or maybe the better choice for you!?!
I'm curious to hear what other people do to motivate yourself or where your motivation comes from when you are put in a situation that you need to make a choice.
Longterm Solution: I go into a state of deep thought and overanalyze everything. But for the sake of the happiness of everyone around me, this is usually a crummy solution.
ReplyDeleteShortterm Solution: Skip dinner. Grab my bike and start going in one direction. Explore along the way. When tired, turn around and know that you have no choice but to make the entire haul back home. Then you are exhausted, a little healthier than the day before, and you sleep like a rock. It's like a kick-start to life.
Maybe try not to see certain situations as either/or, black/white choices...? I tend to do that. We live by our minds too much, lady. If you know in your heart that you want to(and should) do a little gardening in the fresh air, but your mind is convincing you to stay inside and sit on the couch, then don't tear yourself apart just because you don't have the motivation to go garden. Choose NEITHER of those, and just go walking with no direction instead(or something). Chances are you will find motivation to do more than gardening while you are off walking.
I have no advice...as I too have NO driving force to get anything done. We both need to set goals and we can encourage each other to reach them!!
